Grater Cake

Grater cake is a traditional dessert featuring freshly grated coconut and granulated sugar as the main ingredients. The combination is cooked in water until it becomes sticky and the coconut develops a soft texture. This dessert is often flavored with red or pink food coloring in order to make it look more appealing. Grater cake is also known as grater brute when wet brown sugar is used instead of regular white sugar.
