What is BiteCritic?
BiteCritic is a food review platform that rates individual dishes rather than restaurants. Every review is about one specific dish at one specific place, so you can find the best version of whatever you are craving instead of guessing from a venue's overall score.
How are dishes rated?
Each review gives one dish a single score out of 10, based on taste rather than atmosphere or service. Reviewers can add photos, the price they paid and the date of their visit. The score on a dish or place page is the average of its reviews.
Who writes the reviews?
Reviews are written by members of the community, and every review links to its author's public profile. You can follow the critics whose taste matches yours and see their latest reviews in your own feed.
Who is behind BiteCritic?
BiteCritic is built and run by one independent developer. While the platform is still young, friends help with the content before it goes global. It launched on 20 March 2025 and is available on the web, iOS and Android in eight languages.
