Susurluk Tostu is a famous Turkish toast variety originating from the Susurluk district of Balıkesir. What sets it apart is the use of a special local bread and high-quality Mihaliç cheese, a salty, hard sheep's milk cheese with a porous texture. The bread is typically slathered with tomato paste (salça) or butter before being grilled. The combination of the crispy, toasted bread and the melty, flavorful cheese makes it a popular snack for travelers passing through the region. It is almost always served with a glass of frothy Susurluk Ayran, creating a legendary duo in Turkish street food culture.

The toast is a classic toast, you might really like it if you haven't made a toast at home by cutting a piece of bread, putting two sausages and a piece of cheese on it. However, it's nothing special. It might be worth trying, especially if you're on an off-road route. I tried Düzdağ toast on the recommendation of locals. Also, I found it expensive compared to Balıkesir.
