Ajitsuke tamago is a traditional dish consisting of soft-boiled eggs that have been soaked in mirin and soy sauce. The egg yolks should be custardy if properly prepared, and the eggs are eaten as a snack, a part of bento, or more commonly, enjoyed as a ramen topping. The eggs are boiled for a few minutes so that the yolk remains runny, and they are then chilled and soaked (overnight or for a few days) in a combination of water, mirin, and soy sauce. This is the basic preparation, and some cooks might add their own secret ingredients to the marinade to make the eggs more flavorful.

This traditional Welsh dish consists of hard-boiled eggs baked in a bed of soft mashed potatoes, all smothered in a thick, creamy sauce made with leeks, butter, and cheese. The dish is then additionally topped with some more grated cheese. Anglesey eggs, called wyau ynys mon in Welsh, are best made with local ingredients: while the hardy leeks - once amongst the only vegetables grown in Wales - impart a subtle, sweet flavor to this simple seasonal supper dish, Welsh salted butter and Aberwen cheese turn it into something utterly sublime. And even though the delicious dish is substantial enough to be enjoyed on its own, Anglesey eggs are also often served as a side dish with grilled sausages or bacon chops.

Chouchin is a traditional yakitori dish. This type of yakitori is very rare because it consists of pieces of chicken meat that are skewered, grilled, and accompanied by an egg yolk. There are two ways of eating chouchin yakitori – the egg yolk is broken and the meat is dipped into it, or the yolk is placed in the mouth, popped with the teeth so it bursts, and then followed by the meat from the skewer. This yakitori is so elusive that many Japanese people still haven't tried it.

The official Coronation dish, the coronation quiche, is made for the occasion of the coronation of King Charles III and was chosen by the King and Queen Charles and Camilla and the royal chef Mark Flanagan. It is a spinach, broad bean, and tarragon quiche that has lard in the crust. But apart from spinach, broad beans, and tarragon, the coronation quiche also has cheddar cheese, eggs, double cream, milk, salt, and pepper in the filling. Buckingham Palace has reported that the quiche was chosen as the signature dish because it's shareable, adaptable, not expensive, and simple to make. Also, the quiche can be eaten by people with various dietary requirements and preferences. In addition, King Charles is a big fan of eggs and cheese, and his former royal chef Darren McGrady has said he's made a similar thing for him many times. Furthermore, the ingredients chosen for the quiche reflect the King's environmental advocacy, especially his endorsement of organic, seasonal ingredients and meatless dishes.

One of the staple soups in Chinese cuisine is the famous egg drop soup. As the name suggests, it is made by dropping whisked eggs in hot broth, which should form the delicate, flower-like clusters. Although simple in preparation, this soup can be dressed up by numerous ingredients which make it an extremely versatile dish. The most common broth used in egg drop soup is the chicken broth, although vegetable broth or any other flavorful variety can be used. Additional ingredients include scallions and sesame oil, but tofu or vegetables such as peas and tomatoes can also be incorporated into it. Egg drop soup is one of the most popular Chinese soups outside the country. It is a common staple of many Chinese restaurants in the world; however, the western variety is usually much thicker than the traditional Chinese counterpart. In southern parts of China and American-Chinese cuisines, the soup is usually eaten as an appetizer. However, in the northern parts of China, the soup is sometimes consumed with or after the main meal, as they believe it helps with digestion of the main dish. In American-Chinese cuisine, it is often served with Chinese egg rolls.

Denver omelet is an American dish made with eggs, ham or bacon, onions, and green peppers. In order to prepare it, the mixture is poured into a frying pan, cooked, and folded to form an omelet. Although a plaque on California Street in Denver says that this dish was invented to mask the stale flavor of old eggs, it is more probable that the dish started not as an omelet, but as the Denver sandwich, which is actually a Denver omelet tucked between two pieces of toast.
