Consisting of merely sugar, condensed milk and butter, tablet is a centuries-old Scottish treat similar to fudge, but with a crumblier consistency. An early record of it was found in The Household Book, an 18th century account of what domestic life was like in Scotland, written by Scottish songwriter Lady Grizel Baillie. Tablet is nowadays available in confectionery shops all across the country and it often comes flavored with whisky, which makes it the perfect choice for rounding off any traditional Scottish holiday feast.

Crunchy and only slightly sweet, tahini cookies are a Middle Eastern treat made with tahini sesame paste, sugar, butter, and flour. The cookies are often topped with either pine nuts, sesame seeds, or almonds. It is recommended to pair them with a big glass of milk.

Taho is a sweet Filipino dessert which consists of fresh soft tofu doused in arnibal syrup and sprinkled with plump sago pearls. Similar desserts can be found in numerous Asian countries, and most of them call for the usage of the softest tofu variety, known as silky tofu, which has a tender and creamy texture and an incredibly soft consistency. Shortly heated or steamed, it is covered in sweet arnibal syrup (made with melted brown sugar) and enriched with mild vanilla flavors. Usually, the dessert is topped with chewy sago pearls which are similar in appearance and texture to tapioca. Taho is usually sold by street vendors who sell this traditional delicacy in the early morning as a sweet, protein-packed breakfast.

Taiyaki is a Japanese fish-shaped cake that is often consumed as a snack, made from flour and filled with azuki sweet bean paste. It is usually served warm and is often found at most taiyaki stands at any winter festival in Japan. Most people believe that this sweet treat originated in Tokyo during the Meiji era, but taiyaki became extremely popular in 1976 with the emergence of a beloved children's song called Oyoge! Taiyaki-kun (Swim! Taiyaki). It is said that the best taiyaki is characterized by a crisp shell that has been baked to a golden brown color, and although there are many different flavors and varieties of taiyaki today, the basic taiyaki still remains a favorite.

Taj al malek, meaning king&rsquo;s crowns, are decadent little sweets made with shredded phyllo dough (kataifi), sugar syrup, and roasted pistachios. Kataifi dough is first shaped into little nests, dried, brushed with clarified butter, then baked until golden brown. Each pastry is then topped with pistachios and drenched in a sugar syrup flavored with lemon juice, rose water, and orange blossom water. The syrup must be thick enough to hold the nuts together, but not too thick, because it must remain chewy once cooled. Pistachios can be replaced with other nuts such as almonds, cashews, and even peanuts - regardless of the filling, taj al malek are sugary treats worthy of kings.

Talkish kaleve is a traditional dessert originating from Tatarstan. These small pyramids are usually made with a combination of wheat flour, butter, honey, sugar, and water. The butter and flour are cooked in a pan, and the combination is then mixed with honey, water, and sugar. The complicated process of making talkish kaleve involves chilling the mass until it thickens, and it's then stretched, folded, and stretched again until it splits into thin white fibers.. The fibers are placed in small cups and left to chill before they're taken out of the cups and served.

Tamago boro is a traditional snack originating from Japan. These cookies are made with a combination of egg yolks, sugar, starch, and milk. The yolks are mixed with sugar, cornstarch, and milk, and the dough is then kneaded until it's smooth. After it has been rolled into small balls, they are baked in a hot oven, but not so much that they become browned. If properly prepared, the cookies should melt in the mouth. Although tamago boro is a part of wagashi sweets, these cookies have a somewhat bland and neautral flavor with just a hint of sweetness. The cookies are often served during Christmas holidays in the country and they're especially popular with children.

Tamari kaak, a sandwich-type sweet, is considered one of the most popular foods in the old neighborhoods of Damascus. It is one of the most notable street foods in Syria, consisting of a pancake and a filling. The pancake is made with flour, sugar, and water, while the filling consists of tahini, grape or date molasses, and banana slices, topped with toasted sesame seeds and powdered sugar. Recently, some vendors have also started adding condensed milk and chocolate to enhance the flavor. This sandwich is popular only in Damascus and is hard to find in other Syrian cities. Most vendors are located in the Al-Fahama district and the Al-Hamidiyah market but are also spread throughout the capital.

Brazilian hard biscuits known as tarecos are simple cookies consisting of wheat or corn flour, eggs, vanilla, and sugar. They originated in the Brazilian state of Pernambuco, but have since spread and gained popularity throughout Brazil so much that a Brazilian singer Fl&aacute;vio Jos&eacute; titled one of his songs Tareco e Mariola.

Although regional varieties may slightly differ in some ingredients and consistency, tar halva usually consists of toasted rice flour that is combined with butter, cardamom, and a saffron-flavored syrup scented with rose water. Tarta de Mondo&ntilde;edo is a layered cake consisting of puff pastry, sponge cake, angel hair pasta, almonds, and candied fruit. It was first created in the 12th century by nuns in Mondo&ntilde;edo, a small town in the Galician province of Lugo. But it was thanks to the legendary pastry chef Carlos Folgueiro of the O Rei das Tartas bakery and food writer &Aacute;lvaro Cunqueiro, who included the traditional recipe in his book Galician Cuisine, that it became better-known and famous. This attractive and rich cake is often enjoyed at celebrations but can be a filling breakfast or a mid-day snack, accompanied by some coffee or tea.

Tarta de Santiago is a sponge cake made with eggs, almonds, and sugar, flavored with either lemon zest, grape marc, sweet wine, or brandy. Optionally, the cake can have a base layer made from puff pastry or shortcrust pastry. The earliest reference to this cake dates back to 1577, but the first recipe appeared rather late, around 1838. The imprint of the Cross of Saint James on top of the cake&ndash;made with powdered sugar&ndash;appeared first in 1924 in a cake shop in Santiago Compostela and has since become standard practice.
