This treat is a recent invention – it is believed that the first one was created in 2013 by Kate Reid of Lune Croissanterie in Melbourne, Australia. The famous Pistachio Cruffin –> Overhyped / 10 The long queue might raise your expectations, but for me, it didn’t deliver. The sugar crystals on top were too coarse and distracting. The pistachio filling was unevenly spread, some bites were bland, others overwhelmingly rich. Overall, the pistachio-to-pastry ratio was off. Not worth a 30-minute wait.
