Äggakaka is a traditional dish originating from Skåne, where it's spelled a bit differently – äggakaga. It's made with eggs, flour, milk, butter, cornstarch, bacon, chives, and lingonberry preserve. Although the translation boils down to egg cake, it's actually a savory pancake-like dish that's topped with bacon and chives, then served with lingonberry preserve on the side. It can be eaten hot or cold, for lunch or dinner. In the past, äggakaka was served to field workers who helped with the fall harvest because the dish could be easily packed into a sack, then eaten in the field.

Ajitsuke tamago is a traditional dish consisting of soft-boiled eggs that have been soaked in mirin and soy sauce. The egg yolks should be custardy if properly prepared, and the eggs are eaten as a snack, a part of bento, or more commonly, enjoyed as a ramen topping. The eggs are boiled for a few minutes so that the yolk remains runny, and they are then chilled and soaked (overnight or for a few days) in a combination of water, mirin, and soy sauce. This is the basic preparation, and some cooks might add their own secret ingredients to the marinade to make the eggs more flavorful.

If desired, the dish can be enriched with the addition of tomatoes and bell peppers. It can be found throughout India, from street food stalls to highway rest stops.

Despite its unusual name, tea is not the dominant flavor in tea egg, a popular, traditional snack item that originated in Zhejiang, but is found throughout China. The snack consists of an egg that is hard-boiled in (usually black) tea, soy sauce, and numerous spices such as anise, cinnamon, cloves, fennel, and peppercorns, which add a savory, slightly salty note to a normal egg. Tea egg is usually sold by street vendors, but it can also be found in numerous Chinese markets and Asian restaurants. It is commonly consumed on its own or served with accompaniments such as noodles or rice. Traditionally, tea eggs are eaten during Chinese New Year, symbolizing wealth, prosperity, and fertility.

Chipsi mayai or chips and eggs is a staple of Tanzanian street food. French fries are combined with eggs to make a dish that is similar to an omelet with fries dispersed throughout it. Alternatively, the dish can be made with additional ingredients such as bell peppers or onions. It is typically served with kachumbari sauce on the side, consisting of tomatoes, chili peppers, and onions. If you are ever in Tanzania and see a big black wok filled with bubbling yellow oil in front of a restaurant, it is a pretty sure sign that the restaurant serves chips mayai.

Heavy on eggs and light on flour, these Swiss omelet-type pancakes are usually consumed for dinner. They consist of eggs, milk, flour, salt, and sometimes a bit of cottage cheese. Cholermus pancakes are large in size, and it is believed that they were first prepared by herdsmen who used to tear them with forks, then brown the pieces in butter. It is recommended to fill them with fruit (apples, pears) or pair them with vegetables, ham, and bacon for a savory version.

Denver omelet is an American dish made with eggs, ham or bacon, onions, and green peppers. In order to prepare it, the mixture is poured into a frying pan, cooked, and folded to form an omelet. Although a plaque on California Street in Denver says that this dish was invented to mask the stale flavor of old eggs, it is more probable that the dish started not as an omelet, but as the Denver sandwich, which is actually a Denver omelet tucked between two pieces of toast.
