Döner kebab is a delicacy that is known throughout the world, consisting of grilled pieces of meat that are shredded from a vertical skewer. The meat is typically seasoned with fresh herbs and spices. Originally, the meat used in döner was exclusively lamb, but today in Istanbul, there are kebabs prepared with a combination of lamb and beef, or sometimes only with beef. Meat that is grilled vertically on a skewer isn't a new thing, as it has been mentioned in the 18th-century Ottoman travel books. The sandwich form döner kebab, which means rotating kebab, appeared in the early 1970s in Berlin. It is believed that Kadir Nurman was the first to place the shaved pieces of meat into a flatbread and serve it with vegetables such as tomatoes, lettuce, onions, cucumbers, and a squirt or two of sauce, unlike before, when the ingredients were served on a plate. Along with many of the Turkish variations on döner kebab, there are also numerous other regional variations in countries such as Armenia, Vietnam, Austria, Germany, France, and the United Kingdom.

I ate 1.5 portions, which cost 660. The döner was good, but it was just a normal döner, not exceptionally great. I think it's overrated; I don't think this meal is worth the price. As for complimentary items, there was nothing; they only gave two pickles.

A superb döner kebab. Cooked over a glowing wood fire, sliced piping hot, in 200g of lavash bread… This döner, which I only had made with onions, was perfect.

The döner kebab was excessively greasy. I don't think it was tasty. The rice was okay. The best thing on the table was the mushroom with cheese. The künefe (dessert) wasn't good. The waiter who took the bill overcharged my friend by 300 TL, then they settled the bill in cash. They also overcharged my other friend by 10 TL. Either the waiter doesn't know math, or he's adding a service charge arbitrarily.

The döner was very salty and greasy. The meat had a rather strong smell. I couldn't even finish the 120g portion.

The restaurant next door, which has a high rating, was completely full due to Ramadan, so I couldn't eat there. The Hatay shop two shops down seemed to say, "Come on in, brother, I'll feed you," so I went in. The sauce was plentiful, unlike Antakya döner, and it didn't have any foreign ingredients (salad, etc.) inside. It was good, but a little low on salt. I don't usually like döner with this much sauce, but it wasn't bothersome; it was fine. After eating 80% of the wrap, I didn't feel like I was eating it at all. I ate a portion for 1.5 people, and it was quite filling. I found the Turan meatballs at the restaurant tastier.

My only criticism is that it's not cut into leaf-like slices; otherwise, the portion is filling and the taste is good. I recommend it.
